Fifty years after George A. Romero’s genre-defining Dawn of the Dead, Zack Snyder returns to the mall with a brutal, high-speed nightmare. When a containment breach at the Vivere Corporation’s virology lab on the outskirts of Plumstow, Pennsylvania (Filming Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), unleashes the VC-78 virus—a hyper-aggressive airborne pathogen—chaos erupts. Victims turn in seconds. The infection spreads to Canada and Mexico within 10 days, and globally within weeks. A diverse group of strangers finds themselves trapped inside Sapphire Mall (Filming Location: West Edmonton Mall), a vast megastructure of consumerism turned battleground. Over 50 harrowing days, they must outlast sprinting, shrieking hordes, endure betrayal, and battle rival biker gangs… all while praying for a military rescue. But as resources dwindle and loyalties fracture, one truth remains: in the Mall of the Dead, the dead move fast…and the living die faster.
