Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, known professionally as Halsey, is an American singer-songwriter and TV writer/director. Her stage name is a reference to the Halsey Street station of the New York City Subway in Brooklyn, and an anagram of her first name.
A beautiful mermaid called Ariel (Hallie Bailey) makes a deal with Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), a sea witch, to meet Eric ( Jonah Hauer-King), a human prince she falls in love with. However, unaware of Ursula's evil plans, Ariel ends up in trouble.
