Mzingo is a male vulture. He is the leader of a parliament of vultures in the Outlands. Mzingo was initially an enemy of the Lion Guard, with whom he and his parliament had frequent clashes. The vultures eventually joined the army of the resurrected spirit of Scar, whose goal was to take over the Pride Lands. However, the Pride Landers defeated Scar and his allies in an invasion of the Outlands, and Jasiri became the territory's new queen.
