The Lord of Lerd is a very rich, yet very unfriendly fellow. He detests Santa Claus and likes treating people unfairly, including his own daughter, Bessie Blithesome. Since he accepts himself for who he is too much, he won't change his ways. Fortunately, Bessie has taken a vow that upon her father's death, she will make up for his evil doing whether he likes it or not.
