Validus is a 30th Century super-villain and member of the Fatal Five, shown as a mindless beast with incredible strength. He fights the Legion of Super-Heroes with his partners Emerald Empress, Mano, Persuader and Tharok. He has also been a member of the Legion of Super-Villains. It is later revealed that he is Garridan Ranzz, the time-displaced child of Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl turned into a monster by Darkseid. In Reboot Legion continuity, Validus is no longer portrayed as the Ranzz child. In Prime Legion continuity, he is a deity who inspires the Cult of Validus.
