Jason Isaacs (born 6 June 1963) is an English actor. He is best known for his portrayal of Colonel William Tavington in The Patriot (2000), Michael D. Steele in Black Hawk Down (2001), Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise series (2002–2011), Captain Hook in Peter Pan (2003), James Wolfe in Battle of the Brave (2004), Antonio Pérez in The Escorial Conspiracy (2007), Georgy Zhukov in The Death of Stalin (2017), and John Godfrey in Operation Mincemeat (2021). His television roles include Dr. Hunter Aloysius "Hap" Percy in the Netflix supernatural mystery drama streaming series The OA (2016–2019) and Captain Gabriel Lorca in Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2018). His voice acting roles include Admiral Zhao in the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005) and the second season of The Legend of Korra (2013), and the Grand Inquisitor/Sentinel in Star Wars Rebels (2014–2016). Isaacs has appeared on stage as Louis Ironson in Declan Donnellan's 1992 and 1993 Royal National Theatre premiere of Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes and as hitman Ben in a 2007 revival of Harold Pinter's 1957 play The Dumb Waiter at Trafalgar Studios in the West End. He was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor—Miniseries or Television Film for The State Within (2006) and for the British Academy Television Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Harry H. Corbett in The Curse of Steptoe (2008). The film begins with a scene of the Reverse Flash, a time-traveling villain with a grudge against the Flash, recruiting Lex Luthor, a brilliant but power-hungry businessman, to join him in forming the Legion of Doom, a team of supervillains united in their goal to take down the Justice League. Together, the Reverse Flash and Lex Luthor begin recruiting other supervillains to join their cause, including The Joker, a maniacal clown with a penchant for chaos, Brainiac, a super-intelligent being from a distant planet, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Sinestro, and the Riddler, a mastermind of puzzles and riddles. As the Legion of Doom begins to take shape, the supervillains start to put their plans into action. They gather resources, develop new technologies, and recruit more members to their cause, all while staying one step ahead of the authorities. The film follows the Legion of Doom as they rise to power and become a formidable force to be reckoned with. As the Legion of Doom's plan to take down the Justice League and solve the Anti-Life Equation nears fruition, the film builds to a dramatic conclusion that sees the supervillains are 100% on board and are more dangerous than ever.
