John David Washington (born July 28, 1984) is an American actor and former American football running back. He shifted to an acting career like his father, Denzel Washington and mother, Pauletta Washington. In 2015, he started with the HBO comedy series Ballers and his role in BlacKkKlansman (2018) brought him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. After seeing Washington's work in BlacKkKlansman, well-renowned director Christopher Nolan hand-picked him to anchor his thriller film Tenet (2020). Since then, Washington has also starred in Malcolm & Marie (2021), Amsterdam (2022) and The Creator (2023).

The film begins with a scene of the Reverse Flash, a time-traveling villain with a grudge against the Flash, recruiting Lex Luthor, a brilliant but power-hungry businessman, to join him in forming the Legion of Doom, a team of supervillains united in their goal to take down the Justice League. Together, the Reverse Flash and Lex Luthor begin recruiting other supervillains to join their cause, including The Joker, a maniacal clown with a penchant for chaos, Brainiac, a super-intelligent being from a distant planet, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Sinestro, and the Riddler, a mastermind of puzzles and riddles. As the Legion of Doom begins to take shape, the supervillains start to put their plans into action. The film follows the Legion of Doom as they rise to power and become a formidable force to be reckoned with. As the Legion of Doom's plan to take down the Justice League and solve the Anti-Life Equation nears fruition, the film builds to a dramatic conclusion that sees the supervillains are 100% on board and are more dangerous than ever.
