The Last Quarter
Netflix movie Live action remake
Seventeen-year-old Mizuki Mochizuki feels trapped in a suffocating life—estranged from her parents and unfulfilled by her high school romance. One night, she encounters Adam, a mysterious and beautiful musician who seems to embody everything she’s been longing for: freedom, love, and escape. Without hesitation, Mizuki runs away with him, but her decision leads to a tragic accident under the pale glow of the last quarter moon. Awakening in a twilight realm between life and death, Mizuki’s spirit wanders, tethered to the haunting melody Adam left behind. Meanwhile, a group of children led by Hotaru begin to uncover Mizuki’s lingering presence in an abandoned Western-style mansion. As they piece together the fragments of her story, they discover that her fate, Adam’s secret past, and the sorrow hidden in the moonlit night are deeply entwined. Now, Mizuki must face the truth about love, loss, and what it truly means to let go—before the final quarter moon fades and her chance to move on disappears forever. ---
