20 years after an outbreak of spores causes North America to go into quarantine, Joel is given the task of smuggling a girl named Ellie to a settlement of anti government soldiers called the fireflies, Joel soon learns that Ellie has been bit by the infected but her turning is three weeks when it should be two days.
