The episode opens as Jessie officially sets up camp on the outskirts of Jericho City. Simon tells him he can't know for sure if Jessie is the Chosen One of prophecy. The prophecy says there will be a chosen one, the son of the Creator, who will arrive as the one true king and will bring the Reign to an end, and will make the ultimate sacrifice. Jessie assures him this is real and the Creator told him so. He tells Simon his new name shall be Peter, Simon is taken aback but Jessie insists it must be done. They talk to Andrew who tells them John had to leave to continue his work elsewhere. Jessie insists they go into the city to try and get more people to aid them so Jessie and Andrew head into the market where Andrew introduces Jessie to his fishing buddies, Phillip and Nathan. Both of them suggest they leave as the tax collector will be there shortly. Jessie tells them he wants to meet the tax collector but they don't think he's right for wanting to. Jessie sits on a corner and waits while Andrew, Phillip, and Nathan play cards until Levi the tax collector arrives. He tells everyone in the market to gather their payments and as everyone hurries to pay Levi spots Jessie sitting on the corner waiting. Jessie tells him to stop taking from these people but Levi ignores it and takes what he can. Later on Phillip and Nathan agree to join them and once they get back to camp Peter introduces Jessie to brothers he's friends with, Jon and James.
