Kyo Kusanagi's mother. A member of the Kusanagi clan, but she willingly decided to take the role of a housewife. She married her relative Saisyu Kusanagi while being fully aware of his status as the Kusanagi leader. Shizuka loves her family, but since she doesn't really like fighting and will avoid it if she can help it. She is very calm and kind-hearted. She also has a good poker face, looking and acting placid even when she's furious, and is able to scare her husband with a single glance.
