With Doug and Carrie Heffernan’s kids, Ming-Meh and Jerry, now grown up and Carrie’s father, Arthur Spooner, now dead, Doug and Carrie were once again living together by themselves. Back when his kids were still kids, Doug got a call from his old IPS boss, Peter O'Boyle, saying that he’d like to offer him a raise that would help him provide for his family, an offer that Doug was more than happy to accept. Overtime, Doug worked really hard, and after Peter O'Boyle retired, Doug stepped in and took his place as the new supervisor at IPS Package Transport. Things were really starting to look up for the Heffernan family. Although, things haven’t been the same ever since Carrie’s father, Arthur Spooner, died a few years after Doug went back to working at IPS and became its new supervisor. One day, while visiting her father’s grave, Carrie meets a man there who’s revealed to be her long-lost brother and Arthur’s long-lost son.
