The Key to Tehran
By Sep
Inspired by the extraordinary true events of the Iran–Contra affair. 1986. With America and Iran officially sworn enemies, a former White House adviser secretly lands in Tehran, carrying the promise of weapons, freed hostages, and an impossible diplomatic breakthrough. But behind the closed doors of a Tehran hotel, nothing goes according to plan. Arms dealers tell conflicting stories, intelligence operatives conceal their loyalties, and officials on both sides discover that nobody seems to be in control. As a bizarre secret mission collapses into confusion, its consequences threaten to expose an international scandal reaching from the Iranian capital to the jungles of Nicaragua—and the highest levels of the White House. A true story of secret deals, extraordinary misunderstandings, and a diplomatic gamble that spectacularly backfired.
