Jamie Gray is fired just as the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps the world, and thus is forced to work as a food delivery driver. One day, Jamie runs into an old acquaintance named Tom, who says he works for a NGO that works with large animals. He gives Jamie a card and a job offer. Jamie agrees and is soon on a plane to Greenland. What Tom failed to mention is that Jamie won't be working on their own Earth, but rather on a parallel Earth where evolution took a different path.
