Tony Stark was the arrogant son of Howard Stark. Was Pressured to create a weapon of mass destruction, Stark instead created a suit of armor powerful enough for him to escape. After fleeing from enemy territory Tony met and befriended the James Rhodes who had been shot down in his helicopter.they were able to make their escape and upon arriving back in the US Tony decided to continue being Iron Man he began making vast improvements to the technology of his power armor. He believed that he had a limited amount of time left to live due to his injury, and therefore wanted to make the most of it.
