In the region formerly known as North America, the Capitol of Panem controls 12 districts and forces them to choose a boy and a girl, known as tributes, to compete in an annual televised event. All citizens watch the dreaded games, in which young people fight to the death, with only one victorious. Young Katniss Everdeen (Millie Bobby Brown) and Peeta Mellark (Jake Bongiovi) from District 12 rely on their hunting skills and archery, as well as their keen instincts, in this deadly competition.
