After the death of her reclusive mother, Lena Halliday reluctantly returns to the isolated town of Windshore, where the sea constantly crashes against the rocky cliffs and the fog never seems to lift. The town has a long, unsettling history, where old stories about ghostly figures and sinister forces have become a way of life for its few remaining residents. Lena, having left Windshore years ago to escape her mother’s stifling presence, is forced to face her past as she sifts through her childhood home—an old, crumbling mansion perched precariously on the cliffs. As she settles into the house, strange things begin to happen: footsteps echo in the hallways, strange knocks come from the walls, and whispers seem to drift through the rooms at night. While reconnecting with the townspeople, Lena learns about her family’s peculiar legacy. Her mother had been obsessed with the town's folklore and, in particular, the story of The Hollow Hours—an old legend about a time between dusk and midnight when the barrier between the living and the dead is thinnest. People disappear during these hours, and spirits, some say, reclaim what was once theirs. Lena’s mother had spent years investigating these stories, and now, in her death, it seems these forces may have finally come for her.
