Tom Ellis is a Welsh actor. He became known for playing Dr. Oliver Cousins in the BBC soap opera "EastEnders" and Gary Preston in the BBC One sitcom Miranda (2009–2015), then achieved wider recognition for his role as Lucifer Morningstar in the Fox/Netflix urban fantasy series Lucifer (2016–2021) and the Arrowverse franchise crossover "Crisis on Infinite Earths" (2019). Other notable roles include Justyn in Channel 4's "No Angels" and Thomas Milligan in the series three finale of the British science-fiction television programme "Doctor Who".
The Hobbit is set in Middle-earth and follows home-loving Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit of the title, who joins the wizard Gandalf and the thirteen dwarves of Thorin's Company, on a quest to reclaim the dwarves' home and treasure from the dragon Smaug.
