A young man from Minnesota, educated at Yale and a World War I veteran, who moves to New York to work in the bond business. Honest, tolerant, and inclined to reserve judgment, Nick serves as a confidant to those with troubling secrets. Nick is a closeted homosexual man, having a fixation that borders on romantic with Gatsby. The entire story is told through his eyes.
