Fan Casting Diego Salamanda in The Gatekeepers [the Power of Five] 2020-2026

Diego Salamanda is the main antagonist of the second book, Evil Star [2006] and its film adaptation Evil Star [2021]. He was born in Peru and, like the traditions of the ancient Incas, his head was brutally stretched and deformed as a baby. This made him increasingly mentally unstable growing up: he eventually became an extremely successful business man and learned about the Old Ones, dedicating himself to bringing them back to Earth. He succeeds in this aim at the end of the second book though he is killed shortly before he can actually see it happen: due to this he could be considered the overarching human antagonist of the series. He is cruel, deeply calculating and intelligent, jealous of other humans for not having to suffer this deformity and ultimately sadistic and remorseless of his plan to bring back the Old Ones and control the world: when asked if his enormous wealth is not enough he replies ''You're a child! or you'd understand. There's no such thing as enough''.
