olivia is Charlie's grandmother. In her youth she fought alongside the guardians when she discovered a second bridge that orfon opened in an attempt to send the mythicals back to their world. olivia discovered these guardians when she moved into the house that was built. Near where they are located, Renata told her stories to Charlie about raising him with her mother, olivia was in charge of taking care of the bridge to the human world until her death.
