From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Matthew J Vogel II (born October 6, 1970) has been a Muppet performer for the Jim Henson Company since the 1990s. On Sesame Street, Vogel served as the assistant puppeteer for Ernie, performing either one or both hands while Steve Whitmire performed the head and vocal. Eventually, Vogel's ability to mimic the sound and performance of Caroll Spinney's Big Bird was put to use. As of 2006, Vogel's primary performances as Big Bird are the "Journey to Ernie" segments. He's also taken over Jerry Nelson's characters, by the recommendation of Nelson himself. Vogel is, as of 2008, the voice of Floyd Pepper, Lew Zealand, Crazy Harry, Robin the Frog, & Camilla the Chicken. He has also taken over the puppetry of Jerry's most famous character, Count von Count, but Jerry is still providing the voice. Vogel performed the muppets that were used in Kenneth the Page's view of the world in the 30 Rock episode, "Apollo, Apollo." The Flash is a young and talented forensic scientist working in the Central City Police Department. One day, while working in his laboratory, he is struck by lightning during a mysterious electrical storm, gaining extraordinary speed powers. This power grants him the ability to slow down time with his movements and even come to a complete stop. However, Barry Allen (The Flash's real name), struggles to cope with these new abilities at first. As time goes on, he finds himself transforming into a superhero dedicated to protecting Central City from criminals and dangers. By day, Barry works as a scientist, but by night, he races after criminals as "The Flash." Barry's life becomes filled with malevolent metahumans, criminals with different powers. Among them are Thinker, a fast-thinking intellect, Killer Frost, who controls elements, and Reverse Flash, capable of traveling through time. Balancing his personal life and protecting Central City, Barry has to face these enemies. This is the story of a failed criminal turned superhero, filled with excitement, action, and emotional moments. The Flash is a character constantly striving to understand his powers while battling the villains who threaten Central City.
