In 1915, Winston Churchill sought out vibranium in the Antarctic so he sent out an expedition to recover it. While on the sea, their ship was lost in a savage storm that tore it apart and was believed to have shipwrecked. However, there was one survivor: a crew member by the name of Leonard McKenzie. Due to the severity of the storm, everyone back home believed that the entire crew had perished, but what should have been his demise was a miracle instead. He was saved by Princess Fen, who had exploring the surface after they caught sight of the ship. She was taken by the young seaman and decided to rescue the man, taking him to shore and watching over him until he recovered. After swiftly falling in love, the two of them realized that Emperor Thakorr, the Princesses father, would never approve of the union so they hid away, but it was no use. Her father sent Atlantean soldiers to retrieve her while unknowingly pregnant.
