In mourning, she cuts it short, barely reaching her shoulders; in AQ, it is too short to confine and she grows thinner, her bones and planes showing. On the mountains quest, she wears a short scruffy braid. When Fitz first sees her, some hair is braided and coiled around her head, some flows loose. She favors braided styles. Her riding clothes are loose crocus purple trousers embroidered in rich colors, knee-high boots, a voluminous white fur jacket, black gloves, and a bright knitted cap. She later wears simpler styles in purple, white, or light blue.
