She only gives a damn about the football team (as the school's image; not their well-being). From what we see of her before she's infected, she halfheartedly vetoes Mrs. Olson's request to stage a musical out of complete disinterest. It's unsurprising when the infected Coach Willis and Mrs. Olson both remark upon stabbing her, "I always wanted to do that."
