In the late 70s, in a quaint little town, we meet Johnny Maker (Joaquin Phoenix), a sleazy and disillusioned aspiring musician who dreams of making it big. One day, while exploring a dusty old attic, he stumbles upon a mysterious and beautiful grand piano. To his astonishment, this piano seems to play itself with hauntingly beautiful melodies. Enchanted by the piano's ethereal tunes, Johnny shares the discovery with his childhood friend, the free-spirited Daisy Bennett (Winona Ryder), who runs a local music shop. They decide to restore the piano together and hold a concert to showcase its mesmerizing music. As Johnny spends more time at the local diner, he becomes acquainted with the young but wise restaurant worker, Lily Owens (Sydney Sweeney). Lily is a perceptive and intuitive soul who possesses an old soul's wisdom beyond her years. She often offers insightful advice to the customers who visit the diner, providing them with a comforting presence and a listening ear. However, as Johnny delves deeper into the mystery of the piano, he starts experiencing strange occurrences. The haunting melodies from the piano begin to take a darker turn, causing eerie disturbances around him. Unexplainable shadows appear, and a chilling presence looms, leaving Johnny unsettled and fearful.
