"The Ebony Crown" is a historical drama set in the 9th century during the reign of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Wessex. The series follows a powerful and noble Black family, the House of Ashcombe, who have risen to prominence through loyalty, military service, and political acumen. The family is a rarity in this world, navigating the complexities of race, power, and loyalty in a society that values lineage and tradition above all else. Their position at court is precarious, as they must contend with political rivals, threats from Viking invaders, and strained alliances, all while protecting their legacy and staying true to their values. The story centers on the six members of the Ashcombe family, their romantic entanglements with other nobles, their trusted allies, and their cunning enemies. The show explores themes of love, betrayal, family, and the pursuit of power in a beautifully crafted medieval setting.
