A brilliant but fragile FBI data analyst who specialized in tracking radicalized online subcultures. Cole has a photographic memory and an obsessive need to find the "why" behind human belief. He is haunted by deep-seated childhood trauma involving a sinister encounter with a "Satanic Panic" cult—an event his therapists always assured him was a false memory. Arc: Cole enters the Department trying to hold onto his rigid morality, believing he can be the "good guy." As he is forced to violently erase people's beliefs to save physical reality, his sanity fractures. He becomes obsessed with finding out if his own past was rewritten by the very agency he now works for.
