Angela Marie Bettis is an American actress, film producer and director best known for her lead roles in the 2002 TV remake of the Stephen King film Carrie, the title character in May (2002), and in Girl, Interrupted as Janet Webber.
The story, which takes place in Clairton, Pennsylvania, a working-class town on the Monongahela River south of Pittsburgh, and in Vietnam, is about a trio of steelworkers whose lives were changed forever after fighting in the Vietnam War.
