While testing the Phantom Ruby, Eggman has opened a portal to another world. (This takes place before the ending AND the other post credit scenes) He thought he saw Sonic and the Freedom Fighters coming out of it, but then he saw that this hedgehog was green, had sunglasses on his head, a scarred chest, a black jacket, and looked like a maniac. The guest introduced himself. "Hello. I'm Scourge. Scourge the Hedgehog."
