Cuphead feels guilty and ashamed for being a big, stupid bully to Mugman. Now he has no choice to get a lot of help from Ms. Chalice and Elder Kettle. And learn to grow up. To save Mugman from The Devil, he must collect the "soul contracts" that signify The Devil’s ownership of the souls of his runaway debtors by midnight the next day. That’s why Ms. Chalice gives him a potion that allows him to fire blasts from his fingers to aid in his quest, but Elder Kettle warns Cuphead the debtors may change themselves to different things in attempt to stop them.
