Thor comes to blows with the Dark Elf ruler Malekith, who seeks to use the Casket of Ancient Winters to transform the Nine Realms into a winter wasteland for his people. However, the Casket is guarded by Wanda Maximoff, whose family has guarded many Asgardian artifacts on Earth.
