Jadis was a humanoid alien resembling an atypically tall human female, where she used her familiar appearance to her advantage. Jadis was seven feet tall and extremely beautiful, with naturally white skin (Edmund later likened it to "snow or paper or icing-sugar"). Her lips were red, and from the illustrations of her in The Magician's Nephew and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, she has beautiful long black hair that flowed down her back. While seated on her chair in the Hall of Images, there was an utterly breathtaking look of "fierceness and pride" on her face, and when Edmund first encountered her in Narnia, he also thought her beautiful, but "proud and cold and stern" as well.
