Tells the story of a younger Joe in the 1930s as he builds his reputation as a politician and eventually earns everyone's respect and falls in love w/ Jenna. Juxtaposed is his son Monty's reign in the late 70s-early 80s where he gets involved in the affairs of Abscam, along with the gradual tarnishing of his morality, soul, and relationships.
