Fan Casting Harold McConnell in The Bounty of Ryder Presents — Mace & Sue

Courtney B. Vance as Harold McConnell: Willis's closest friend and a fellow lawman. McConnell is practical, observant, and considerably more cautious than Mace, often serving as a stabilizing presence among the younger lawmen. His friendship with Willis eventually develops into a professional partnership, with McConnell later becoming sheriff as Willis assumes greater responsibility as marshal. His long-standing connection to both men helps explain his deep respect for the Ryder family decades later. Samuel L. Jackson portrays the older McConnell in the mainline films.
