The Bounty of Ryder Part II is a 2026 American coming-of-age Western adventure film written and directed by Kevin Costner. Produced by Legendary Pictures and New Line Cinema and distributed by Lionsgate, it is the second installment in the Chronicles of Charlotte Ryder series, the first chronologically, and a prequel to The Bounty of Ryder. The film stars Ryan Kiera Armstrong and Nicolas Cage, alongside Ewan McGregor, Kate Winslet, Vincent D'Onofrio, Costner, Annette Bening, Christopher Judge, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Samuel L. Jackson. It marks Armstrong's second collaboration with Cage after The Old Way (2023). In the film, a group of bounty hunters and lawmen have been ratted out by one of their own when a powerful gang ambushed them. Charley Ryder is taken under the wing of Clinton Ward, who is secretly her mentor, to interrogate the gang's allies in order to find out who tipped them off. The Bounty of Ryder Part II premiered in London on October 6th, 2026, and was released on November 11th; the film received widespread acclaim with praise for its visual style, Costner's direction, the action sequences, Hans Zimmer's musical score, emotion, and performances —namely Armstrong, Cage, Judge, and Jackson. It grossed over $1.56 billion worldwide, the first Western film to pass the $1 billion dollar mark, and thus making it the highest-grossing Western film and the third-highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. A sequel to the first film entitled The Bounty of Ryder Part III: Blood or High Honor was released the following year.
