Tate Taylor is an American filmmaker and actor. A frequent collaborator with his friends and prolific character actresses Allison Janney and Octavia Spencer, Taylor is best known for directing The Help, Get on Up, and The Girl on the Train.
The story tracks a group of young friends backpacking through Italy who come upon a travel guide called “The Book,” which promises unique off-the-beaten-path adventures. However, they get more than they bargained for when The Book leads them into the clutches of a demonic cult.
