For the past several seasons, Blaze and AJ have established themselves as the top race team in Axle City. But things change in the final race of the pair's latest season, when Crusher pulls off his most grandiose cheat yet: overloading Blaze's Blazing Speed engine with Nitrous, causing Blaze to crash when he uses it due to succumbing to oversteer from going too fast, resulting in Crusher finally beating him. Afterwards, Blaze and AJ try to get back on top together, while Crusher begins to realize that it's lonely for him at the top.
