Ghassan Massoud (Arabic: غسّان مسعود / Ghassān Masʻūd; born September 20, 1958) is a Syrian actor and filmmaker born on September 20, 1958, in Damascus, Syria. He achieved global recognition for his roles in both Arabic and worldwide films. Massoud has been active in the industry for several decades, earning a distinguished reputation as one of the most highly regarded actors in the Middle East. Massoud is known for writing and directing the theater play "Diplomasiyyoun," as well as his appearances in many Syrian-made films. He has appeared in the Syrian television series "The Chant of Rain," but most recently, he starred as Abu Bakr in MBC's series "Omar." He's most well-known internationally for his role as Saladin in Ridley Scott's 2005 film "Kingdom of Heaven," alongside playing Ammand the Corsair in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Throughout his career, Massoud has been recognized for the commitment he has to his craft. He continues to be an influential figure in the world of Arab cinema, teaching drama at both the Damascus Music and Drama School and the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts.

Ra’s Al Ghūl is an eight year old boy traveling with a nomadic tribe in the Middle East. One day his entire tribe was slaughtered by the Mongol Empire in front of him being the only survivor. He then sought out the city of Avarga, renowned for its progression in science, but ruled by the mongols who killed his tribe. He became a great scientist and a trusted ally of the Sultan and met the love of his life, marrying her. He also seeks out training to become a living weapon, so that he will always be able to protect himself and those he loves, never letting what happened to his tribe happen again. During an expedition he discovered a series of pools beneath the city with a glowing green substance in them that could restore health, and even bring people back to life. When he gives this information to the Sultan he is given the corpse of the dead prince to be revived. When he brings him back he goes insane and begins to kill everyone until Ra’s decapitates him. When the Sultan discovers this he sentences Ra’s and his wife and daughter to death for the murders. Ra’s is restrained back and watches as his family is executed in front of him, he breaks free and murders the Sultan and begins a battle across the city. He single handedly kills all of the Mongols and everyone who will not help John in his newfound purpose- to wipe the board clean and start over on civilization to erase all the evil that humanity causes
