An ex-gladiator in House Xorlarrin's fighting pits, Velrynn is a hardened and seasoned warrior—lethal, efficient, disciplined. His remarkable control and calmness in the face of horrifying odds impressed adolescent Nivirya, who bought him out of the pits to be her bodyguard, and he became that and more; her rock, her protector, eventually even her lover. And all the while, she became his reason for living; life had no purpose if he couldn't be at her side or watching her back. Velrynn is stoic, calm, patient, a hesitantly loving heart hidden within a fortress of dutiful apathy.
