Fan Casting Mr. Freeze in The Batman IV: Heart of Ice (1997)

Dr. Victor Fries, now known as Mr. Freeze, is the main antagonist of The Batman IV: Heart of Ice. Formerly a brilliant cryogenics scientist for Goth-Corp who had his terminally ill wife Nora placed in suspended animation while he desperately searched for a cure, this all changed when he was betrayed by his boss Ferris Boyle and his associate Rupert Thorne, the former of whom decided to cut costs and pulled the plug on the experiment, causing a massive explosion of cryogenic chemicals. The chemicals altered Victor’s physiology, making his body temperature drop to sub-zero levels. He could no longer survive in normal room temperature, forcing him to wear a special suit to stay alive. He turned to crime to fund his continued research to cure his wife, adopting the persona of Mr. Freeze.
