The daughter of Commissioner James Gordon, young Barbara Gordon would join Batman and Robin in their war on crime. Unfortunately, her crime-fighting career was cut short after the Joker shot her right through the spinal column, leaving her confined to a wheelchair. She then utilized her gift with computers and her eidetic memory as the information broker Oracle and founded the Gotham-based team, the Birds of Prey. After undergoing an experimental surgical procedure that restored her ability to walk, she resumed her role as Batgirl, albeit with PTSD and anger issues.
