The second Robin was a street urchin caught by Batman attempting to steal the wheels off the Batmobile. Taken in by Bruce to be the second Robin, Jason exhibited an explosive temper and frequently disobeyed Batman's orders. When Jason went after the Joker alone, he was brutally beaten and left to die in a rigged explosion. Revived by a Lazarus Pit, Jason became the Red Hood, a vigilante who resorted to lethal force and guns, things Batman was against. After feuding with Batman over how criminals should be dealt with, Red Hood would agree to come back to the family and promised to restrict killing in Gotham.
