Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård (Swedish: [ˈbɪlːˈskɑ̌ːʂɡoːɖ]; born 9 August 1990) is a Swedish actor. He is known for portraying Pennywise in the horror films It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019), along with the 2025 prequel series It: Welcome to Derry. Other horror appearances were in the series Hemlock Grove (2013–2015) and Castle Rock (2018–2019) and the films Barbarian (2022) and Nosferatu (2024). Skarsgård has also appeared in the comedy Simple Simon (2010), the drama Nine Days (2020), and the action films The Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016), Atomic Blonde (2017), and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023). When an evil clown calling himself the Joker starts terrorizing Gotham City a slightly younger Batman, about 4 years into this vigilante role has to work with Commissioner Gordon and Catwoman to stop him. Throughout the movie Joker mentally tortures Batman and pushes him to his limit. Eventually Batman puts all the pieces of this new mystery together and discovers that Joker is the Red Hood, a villain Batman was unable to save during his first year of crime fighting. The movie ends with Batman going to Ace Chemicals, the place where it all started. Batman fights off Joker's goons and then Joker who almost pushes Batman into the chemicals but Batman manages to take Joker down and send him to Arkham Asylum.
