A mysterious hitman who is responsible for almost a hundred murders, though the trail has gone cold for years. His illicit payments were spent trying to find a cure for his wife, and when that failed he was left with just guilt and directionless rage. He operated under several cold-related pseudonyms, including 'Joe Chill'. When Bruce discovers this, finding this 'Mr. Freeze' becomes immensely more personal. Just as the Reeves-verse take on 'The Riddler' owed much of its direction to the Zodiac killer, this version of Mr. Freeze takes inspiration from infamous real-life contract killer Richard Kuklinski, 'the Iceman'.
