Jason Todd was raised in the slums of Gotham City. After his stepmother died of an overdoes and his criminal father arrested, Jason was caught by Batman stealing the Batmobile's wheels. He became the new Robin, succeeding Dick Grayson, but when Jason found his birth mother Dr. Shiela Hayewood in Ethiopia, he was lured into a trap and beaten with a crowbar by the Joker, dying with his mother in a warehouse from a time bomb. Ressurected by a Lazarus Pit, Jason became the ruthless antihero Red Hood to draw the Joker out and kill him. After many confrontations with Batman, Jason and his mentor put their feud aside, fighting together once again.
