Barbara Gordon is the daughter of GCPD commisioner James Gordon. When Batman became big talk in the city, Barbara became inspired by Batman's mission and decided to join him as Batgirl. However she would eventually distance herself from the Batgirl mantle, and in one fateful day, Joker showed up at her apartment at shot her in the lower spine, paralyzing her from the waist down. She decided to insetad to use her extensive knowledge on computers as the hacker and information broker Oracle. Years later she underwent a surgical procedure involving a cybernetic implant on her neck's nape, restoring her ability tp walk and resume her role as Batgirl.
