The daughter of filmmaker Bruce Paltrow and actress Blythe Danner, she established herself as a leading lady, appearing primarily in mid-budget and period films during the 1990s and early 2000s, before transitioning to blockbusters and franchises. Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. recruits a team of extraordinary individuals: Tony Stark/Iron Man, Bruce Banner/Hulk, Hank Pym/Ant-Man, and Janet Van Dyne/Wasp. Loki, the exiled Asgardian prince, steals the Tesseract, a powerful energy source, and uses it to open a portal for an alien invasion and mind controls bruce banner. Thor, Loki’s adoptive brother, joins to stop him and retrieve the Tesseract. Despite their differences and clashing egos, the team tracks Loki, who is building a device to stabilize the portal. They fight and defeta Hulk. Captain America is unfrozen. Black Widow joins the team. Loki manipulates them into conflict, and his mind-controlled forces, led by Clint Barton/Hawkeye, attack S.H.I.E.L.D.’s helicarrier. After a fierce battle, the Avengers regroup when they realize the true scope of Loki’s invasion. Loki unleashes the Chitauri army on New York City, prompting the Avengers to assemble in full force. Tony Stark risks his life to guide a nuclear missile through the portal, destroying the alien mothership and ending the invasion. With the world saved and Loki captured, the team parts ways, leaving the door open for future threats.
