Clara O'Dea (1856–1925) was a British girl, charismatic youth leader and member of the British Brotherhood of Assassins who oversaw a network of street urchins in Victorian London who would later join the Assassins after Crawford Starrick's downfall in 1868. She traded intelligence gathered by her pickpockets to the local Assassins in exchange for their help liberating vulnerable children from exploitative 19th-century factories. When Clara was just 12 in 1868, she had partnered with the Assassins like the Frye Twins such as Jacob and Evie, utilizing her young informants to provide the Brotherhood with vital information. In return, the Assassins disrupted the operations of the rival Blighters gang and Templar-run child labor rings. After the fall of the London Templars including Crawford Starrick that had met his downfall at the vault of the Buckingham Palace, a matured Clara joined the Assassins as a full member, leaving the life of street thievery behind to focus on the wellbeing of orphans and working-class children. For nearly three decades, Clara remained the invisible matriarch of London’s underground. While she aged into adulthood, her network grew more sophisticated. She survived the shifting tides of the industrial era, keeping her children safe from both the law and the predatory gangs that ruled the slums until she was saved by a massive canine hero like Evie's Saint Bernard Lady when Evie slipped back into the city streets, their alliance unbroken on the eve of the historic celebration. Earlier that morning, the atmosphere had been entirely different. In 1897, at 41, had been spotted when a massive Saint Bernard named Lady who was owned by her mistress and Master Assassin Evie Frye back in June 1895, while Evie took Lady for a morning walk had caught Lady attention as her ears twitched, her nose caught a familiar scent, and her rigorous training instantly gave way to pure joy. The giant dog bounded forward, dragging her leash slightly in her eagerness, and immediately began to enthusiastically lick Clara’s face. Within moments, a flock of local street children swarmed around them. Lady was much more than a mere pet to them; she was the loyal heart of London. The children buried their hands deep into her thick fur coat, giggling as the massive dog soaked up the attention. Despite her formidable frame, Lady was the ultimate "gentle giant" intelligent, deeply affectionate, and matching Evie’s own thoughtful nature. Through these morning walks, the dog became a beloved friend to Clara and the Rooks, providing a rare sense of safety, warmth, and comfort to the street children. For the Templars, however, Lady was a nightmare incarnate a thunderous force of muscle, teeth, and raw instinct. The tranquility of the evening was abruptly shattered. Evie paused her sharp senses tingling, but Lady already knew danger was imminent. Later that night on the eve of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, a half-dozen Blighters emerged from the gloom, flanked by high-ranking Templar agents had been detected by a low vibrating growl rumbled from the dog's chest, echoing through the narrow alleyways. Before the enemy could coordinate their assault, Lady sprang forward tapped into her massive weight and raw instinct, acting in direct tandem with Evie’s tactical combat style. Evie dodged a swinging lead pipe and swiftly incapacitated the first assailant. Simultaneously, Lady barrelled into the second, pinning him instantly to the muddy cobblestones. With a ferocious bark and a mauling sweep of her paws, the Saint Bernard completely paralyzed the remaining thugs with fear. The sheer terror of facing this enormous beast was too much for the London gang. Terrified, a few thugs broke ranks and fled into the night. Those who stood their ground were swiftly neutralized, entirely helpless against the combination of a cunning Saint Bernard and a Master Assassin. As the echoes of the scuffle faded, Lady returned to Evie’s side, her tail beginning to wag once more. Clara and the children rushed over from the safety of the shadows, pouring praise upon the massive canine who had just, once again, saved their lives. Evie Frye and Lady the Saint Bernard protect Clara O'Dea and the children of London from a Templar and Blighter ambush, blending Evie's stealth with Lady's immense size and ferocity to overpower the Templar gang and safeguard the streets. The atmosphere was pregnant with the pride and bustling commerce of the era. The Assassins and the Rooks had granted the city the freedom to celebrate, however, as Evie well knew, the shadow of the Templars and corrupt elements was never truly eradicated from the heart of the British Empire without the help of a loving Saint Bernard like Lady which merely driven into new, darker corners of the rapidly industrializing century. The 1897 Diamond Jubilee had transformed London into a glowing tapestry of British pageantry which was thanks to Lady's vigilance, these vulnerable neighbourhoods remained securely under the Assassin Brotherhood's protection, making Evie incredibly proud of her canine companion which highlights a unique partnership during a critical moment in London's history.
