John Michael Turturro (born February 28, 1957) is an Italian-American businessman, entrepreneur, actor, writer and filmmaker, known for his association with the independent film movement. He has appeared in over sixty feature films and has worked frequently with the Coen brothers, Adam Sandler and Spike Lee. He began his acting career on-screen in the early 1980s, and received early critical recognition with the independent film Five Corners (1987). Turturro's mainstream breakthrough came with Lee's Do the Right Thing (1989) and the Coens' Miller's Crossing (1990) and Barton Fink (1991), for which he won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival. His subsequent roles included Herb Stempel in Quiz Show (1994), Jesus Quintana in The Big Lebowski (1998) and The Jesus Rolls (2020), Pete Hogwallop in O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), Seymour Simmons in the Transformers film series and is set to play Carmine Falcone in The Batman. In 2016, in a lead role, he portrayed a lawyer in the HBO miniseries The Night Of and had a recurring role in the miniseries The Plot Against America in 2020. An Emmy Award winner, Turturro has also been nominated for four Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and four Independent Spirit Awards. He directed Mac (1992), which won the Golden Camera Award at the Cannes Film Festival, Illuminata (1998), and Romance and Cigarettes (2005). Peter Parker was your average college student. He had rent problems and struggled to talk to girls. Peter was also the vigilante known as Spider-Man for a few years. Peter met Mary Jane Watson who had a troubled past. He asked Mary Jane out and got to know her more. Peters college professor Curt Connors tried to regrow his arm. It backfired and he turned into a reptilian monster known as the Lizard. J Jonah Jameson the head of the Daily Bugle wanted proof the Lizard existed so he sent Peter out to get pictures for him. Peter found the Lizard in the sewers and he was almost killed. Peter dig some digging and discovered that Curt was the Lizard. Peter became determined to help Curt as he was a father figure to him. Peter lost his apartment but he didn’t care he was focused in his mission. Peter contacted Otto Octavius a man who used to work with Curt. He didn’t know how to help Peter but he did tell him where Curt lived. Peter visited Curt’s house and found out his wife and son left him. He got to work on a new formula that would cure Curt for good. Meanwhile the Lizard attacked Flash Thompson one of Peters classmates. He was badly injured and lay in hospital. Peter felt bad about this and he perfected the formula. Peter lured the Lizard into a trap and forced the cure down its throat. He changed back into Curt and Peter decided to destroy the photos he had taken so Curt didn’t get arrested.
